We are thrilled to announce that 6 of our 7 Sheep’s milk cheeses have been awarded a total of 4 gold medals and 6 gold stars from 2 prestigious awards!
In July, 4 of our cheeses were awarded the Gold medal in the Taste of the West awards. These were for Shakespeare, Hemingway, Smokey Burns and Hardy’s.
In September, a further 4 cheeses were awarded one gold star in the Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste awards (Orwell, Hardy’s, Hemingway and Burns) and our Shakespeare cheese was awarded an amazing 2 gold stars!
With each award judging, along with the award we also receive some judging notes and reading through, we are so pleased that the judges could taste all the hard work we put in to create our delicious and complex flavours.
One of our favourites was this comment about our Shakespeare cheese - “A very attractive little cheese with a softly delicate bloomy rind that melts in the mouth. The cheese inside is soft and creamy with hints of hay and farmyard and fresh air. It melts on the tongue, leaving a soft creamy rich cheese with notes of lactic acid just at the back of the tongue. Milky and clean, this is a really delicious cheese.”
We also found out in September that we are Finalists in the Dorset Food, Drink & Farming Awards in the Best Food Producer category. We know we wouldn’t be a finalist without your nominations and we are really grateful for taking the time to nominate us.
